Before you can sell your work online you need to document it

But don’t let that put you off. Documenting your art doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. All you need is a digital SLR or a high-quality phone camera and a tripod!

Follow these 3 easy steps to document your work and start selling online

Find a neutral, well-lit wall. Daylight will give you the best results, avoid direct sunlight.

Daylight will showcase your work with its genuine colours and without any glare.

Tape a reference colour chart/bar on the wall close to your artwork. Buy one online or print one with us!

The colour bar is a good reference when setting your files up for print.

Use a tripod to level your phone/camera with the middle of your artwork.

Position your phone/camera so that the frame is mainly filled with your work, shoot it straight on, not at an angle. Keep some background in the shot — customers need to see the edges of your art to get a sense of its scale.

Final Note: If your work is A3 or smaller you could consider scanning it.
